Frequently asked questions

What should I do if I forget my password?

eDiary has two passwords: the local password and the cloud service password.

If you forget your local password, you can try to recover it by answering the password hint question you set up initially. If you did not set a password hint question, unfortunately, the password cannot be recovered. However, if you have previously performed data synchronization, you can create a new diary locally and then re-download the data from the cloud.

If you forget your cloud service password, unfortunately, due to the encryption features of eDiary, the system does not support password recovery. For members, if you confirm that you have forgotten your cloud service password, you can only contact customer service to delete the existing account and then apply for a new account (you can keep the old username). Customer service will help you reassign your membership status.

How secure is the eDiary cloud service?

The security of the eDiary cloud service is carefully designed to be on par with the local data security provided by eDiary. The system encrypts your cloud data using the "cloud service password" as a seed. You only need to ensure that your password is strong and memorable, as this will prevent anyone, including our team, from being able to decrypt your cloud data.

Is there a maximum limit for the size of local data files (*.edf)?

The maximum size for local data files is 128GB. However, we recommend keeping the file size below 10GB, as larger files can complicate the backup process. If you have a significant amount of data, it is advisable to split it into multiple files based on categories or time periods.

How do I set the default font and paragraph format for the editor?

Open the Template Manager (Menu: Tools -> Template Manager), select the default template on the left, and then change the font and paragraph settings on the right. Save the template, and the new font and paragraph format will be applied the next time you create a new diary entry or document.
